This sport can be brutal & when fighters step in the cage, they are literally going to battle. Reminiscent of old world gladiators; most fighters are vicious & strategic. The fighters train for months & research their opponents. When a title is on the line, you may think their honor & respect- even life- have been challenged. This is what we, spectators, tune in to see & what we want to watch. We want to see men & women use everything they have, body & mind, to take down their respective opponents- to defend their honor. For centuries, this is why organized fights have had so many fans. Whether you’re poor or rich, scared or fearless, sick or healthy, free or enslaved there is a common thread…respect. From the early Romans Gladiators that fought on the dirt in coliseums, to today’s current bouts battled out in the cage- everyone understands there is a level of pride on the line.
