DOM Sponsored Lozano Defeats Weedman at Bellator 49

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

DOM Gear would like to congratulate DOM sponsored fighter Chris Lozano (9-1) for upsetting Bellator 49 tournament dark horse Brent Weedman (18-7-1) on Sept 10, 2011.  Lozano recovered from a near loss in the first round to be awarded a unanimous decision win, 29-28 by all three judges. While Lozano’s night almost ended before it could begin because of a staggering blow from Weedman in the opening minutes of the bout, “The Cleveland Assassin” would rally, opening the second round with a series of combos that put Weedman on the defensive. Lozano would not relinquish the momentum from there, taking the last round and the fight to move on to the tournament’s semifinals.  When asked about his opponent Lozano said “That was a war, I was ready for a war, and Brent brought it, so I have to thank him for the toughest fight of my life.” The next round will feature Lima vs. Lozano at Bellator 53 on Oct. 8, 2011.  Both the location and venue of Bellator 53 have yet to be finalized so keep posted for more details.
