The DOM fight gear trailer is getting ready & packed up for the long drive back out to Cali for the Mundials!
On May 31-June 3, the 2012 World Jiu Jitsu Championships will be held at Cal State, Long Beach. Last year, there were some great grapplers showcased & the “best of the best” fighters earned their place in the IBJJF history books; among them was Caio Terra. Man, we here at DOM have some serious respect for this guy!
He took silver in the Rooster weight division in the finals against Bruno Malfacine, making Bruno a four-time World champ! Caio also walked away as the 2011 Mundials no gi, light featherweight champ! Terra is entering the World Championships with a recently impressive record. While yes, his superfight against Jeff Glover was technically a loss- it added no blemish to Caio’s impressive record.
He showcased his undeniable skill set & kept the crowd engaged as he rolled with Glover. Caio is competing at Mundials as the 2012 Pan Ams gold winner- we are hoping for back-to-back gold medals! Another Pans gold medal winner is Justin Rebolloso from Red Oak, Texas. Justin fought up in the Juvenile 1 division as a blue belt; Rebolloso is currently a green belt. Justin represented the Lone Star state admirably as he made IBJJF history when he took the gold as a 14yo!
We are excited to get back out to Cali to see what these competitors will be bringing with them- we know it will be dedication, heart, & a drive to win!
