Eric Prindle vs. Cole Konrad at Bellator 70

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Eric Prindle has had a tough road to get to his title fight! After his win over Sparks in late October 2011, Prindle was scheduled to face Thiago Santos. In the first round of their fight, Santos kicks Prindle in the groin; the fight is called, & ruled “No Contest.” A rematch between the 2 heavyweights is set for Bellator 61 & a week before the fight it is announced that due to illness, the bout has been pushed to the next card. At Bellator 62 weigh-ins Santos weighs in 12 lbs over, sending Prindle right back into his “holding pattern.” What should have been a fairly consistent competition schedule for “The American Solider” has turned in to a 7 month lay off between fights. This is a great fighter & addition to the Bellator Championships family & I’m glad he’s finally getting his chance to potentially earn the heavyweight title! Friday May 25th, live from New Orleans LA Eric Prindle will face off with current Bellator Heavyweight Champ, Cole Konrad. Their ages are just about the only physical difference to note, but their styles are what will keep things interesting. Prindle has an impressive amateur boxing record with past US Armed Forces tournaments while Konrad is a NCAA wrestling champ. It should be an exciting night for the Bellator tournament series, mark your calendars!
