If you were anywhere near the Los Angeles Staples Center on Saturday night you would have heard deafening cheers for Lyoto Machida.
The second round Knockout over Ryan Bader served to lift Machida out of a 1-3 slump. Anyone watching the fight would tell you that Machida clearly dominated from the start. Bader seemed unable to get into gear as he failed to make contact time and time again.
In round one Machida kept his distance and utilized the karate style kicks that have served him so well in the past. Bader was able to land a combo but it was not nearly enough to stop the fierce dragon.
Round two was much of the same as Bader flailed and Machida connected. The final blow to Bader’s jaw sent the crowd into a frenzy with chants of “Machida”.
The post fight interview with Machida left UFC fans excited about the light-heavyweight’s future fights. The only thing left to ask is whether or not Machida has what it takes to bring down the champ.
