The 2011 FIGHTERS ONLY Awards Show was somehow better than 2010– The Dom crew rolled in early Wednesday, the day of, and took a cab to the Palms. Roc always asks way personal questions to the Cabbies, and they’re either annoyed or best friends by the time we arrive. Every time. So we’ve befriended prostitutes (retired), gambling addicts, lost refugees and even the very quiet types. Roc just can’t seem to stop, and BG fills in all the gaps– truly bizarre to listen to. UFC Veteran Jay Heiron prepares for the fight of his life this weekend when he faces former Olympian Ben Askren in Bellator 56.
On Saturday, October 29, Jay Heiron will face the toughest fight of his career at Bellator 56 in Kansas City, Mo. This fight will be the main event of the evening following a heavyweight war set to determine who will move forward on the heavyweight side of the tournament. Ben is hopefully preparing for the grittiest fight of his life and I hope Jay has been working on every form of wrestling known to man. Friday was a anticipated day for many as the doors opened at 9am to all who follows the MMA arena. DOM Fight Gear was ready and willing to meet some new faces throughout the weekend at the expo. We got to see a bunch of our local friends at the grapplers quest BJJ event which was packed to the gill. Celebrity talent wasn’t short this weekend as there was some big names in the house for sure.
We spotted a photo of Urijah Faber that was for sale at $600 plus and Urijah was wearing DOM gi pants “Yes DOM gi pants” Oh boy was that a site to see.
The two day UFC expo was a blast and a great memory for DOM, just knowing that we are accepted with generous love is good enough in our book.
